Effect of feed distribution on needle coke production

In a coke tower without a feed distributor installed, the feed port is located in the center of the bottom cover of the coke tower, and the feed channel is located in the center of the coke tower. Because the feed pipe is thinner and the diameter of the coking tower is thicker, it takes a long time for the material to flow to the tower wall as it diffuses around after feeding. In this process, on the one hand, due to the large scattering surface and the long diffusion time to the periphery, the light components in the system overflow faster. The greater the distribution to the periphery, the greater the viscosity of the system, it is not easy to create and merge mesophase spheres. And the more to the periphery, the greater the viscosity of the system, the smaller the light component, resulting in insufficient oil and gas, resulting in poor structure of coke, especially tower coke. On the other hand, because of the long diffusion time, the radial temperature distribution in the coking tower is not uniform, which is not conducive to the reaction.

Note:
